I would like to express my deep appreciation for your continued support of the important environmental work being done by Sabine-Neches RC&D. 2017 was a busy and successful year for us as we replaced failed septic systems with new aerobic systems, cleaned a tire dump site in Henderson County and began another tire cleanup in Harrison County. We are very hopeful to receive grant funds to clean the Sabine River front on the Mineola Nature Preserve and are obtaining Supplemental Environmental Project funding for new septic systems in Smith County. We are also working with the Sabine River Authority for funding to repair a public water system in Panola County. There are limited state funds available for other worthy projects, so if you know of an environmental situation in your area, please let me know and one of our council members will look into it.
